Young Animal Advocates Shine at Pope Memorial’s Kids Day Event

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Kids Day at Pope Memorial Humane Society. While the weather was a bit icky (enough with the rain already), the day was full of laughter and kindness. Traditionally, Kids Day is an indoor and outdoor celebration, and although we had to cancel some outside activities, we made the most of it inside. The best part? The lambs were able to join us indoors and were a big hit with kids and adults alike.

From animal-themed crafts to games, face painting, and lots of fun photo opportunities, the shelter was filled with warmth and compassion. Thanks to the amazing kids in our community who came ready to learn, play, and give back, it was a day to remember. Their enthusiasm and kindness made a lasting impact on everyone they met, including the animals.

This event is one of our favorites every year because it celebrates empathy, generosity, and the next generation of animal advocates. The kids who attended reminded us all that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of homeless pets.

We are so grateful to the families who participated, our dedicated volunteers, and the team who helped bring the day to life. Your support means the world to us and the animals in our care.

We are already looking ahead to next year and hope you are too. Mark your calendars for May 9, 2026, as we get ready to celebrate a big milestone—the 10th Annual Be Kind to Animals Kids Day. You won’t want to miss it.

Until then, keep spreading kindness wherever you go. The compassion and care shown by the kids in our community give us so much hope for the future.
