Celebrating $150,000 Raised by Our Community to Save Animals’ Lives
We’re celebrating and absolutely bursting with gratitude! Thanks to you, our incredible community, the 2025 Sherman Fund Matching Campaign was a success. You raised $75,000, which was matched dollar-for-dollar by Martine Richard LaBrie and Dr. Henry LaBrie, bringing the total to an amazing $150,000 for the Sherman Medical Fund.
Because of your generosity, animals like Pizza Hut, the cat, who is now thriving on three paws after an amputation, Charley, who healed after losing two damaged eyes, Princess, who is back on her feet after a hernia repair, and Cupcake, who is smiling pain-free after dental care, are all living their second chances. And they are just a few of the many success stories your kindness made possible.
“Every gift to the Sherman Medical Fund gives a homeless pet a second chance at life,” says Tracy Sala, PMHS Executive Director. “Your support means lifesaving care, healing, and hope for so many animals in need. We couldn’t do it without you!”
Created in 2020, the Sherman Medical Fund was designed to give donors a direct way to help cover the cost of medical care for homeless pets in need. Every year, hundreds of animals at PMHS require veterinary attention, sometimes dozens in a single day. From routine spay/neuter appointments to urgent surgeries for kittens with degloved tails or dogs suffering from painful conditions like cherry eye, the fund ensures pets get the care they desperately need.
The success of this matching campaign is a testament to the power of community and the generosity of Martine and Henk LaBrie, whose extraordinary gift ignited this incredible effort.
From all of us at Pope Memorial Humane Society, and from every pet who is healing because of you, thank you. You are changing lives, one animal at a time.
